Winningham wows way to Athens

ONA, W.Va. - Cabell Midland High School's Danielle "Dee Dee" Winningham signed a national letter of intent on Tuesday, Feb. 10 to attend Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
The signing ceremony took place inside the high school's library with family, friends and teammates standing by in support.
The future Bobcat and 2006 winner of the Ray McCoy Trophy winner for Cabell County focuses on the 400-meter run and the 300 hurdles. However, her range is broad enough that she finished the 5,000-meter run at the West Virginia state cross country meet in 20 minutes, 57.72 seconds - good for 27th overall on Nov. 1, 2008.
According to one online running outlet, Winningham's personal best marks include 47.10 in the 300 hurdles; 26.95 in the 200 dash; 19:11.80 in the 5K run and 58.00 in the 400 run.

Mount Saint Mary's University Bound
Scott Rice of Boonsboro has signed with Mount Saint Mary's University where he will continue to pole vault.
Scott currently holds the Boonsboro High School record for both Indoor and Outdor Track as well as the 1A Indoor and Outdoor State Meet Records and the Washington County All Time record.
Last spring he set meet records at the Dwight Scott Inivtational, Rebel Relays (combined with teammate) and Northern Bedford Invitational. Scott set the All Time Washington County Record in June at the USA Youth National Championships where he finished 6th overall with a jump of 14'3.25".
Currently this Indoor season he has jumped 14' which is also the highest ever Indoor jump in Washington County history.
