2008 MVAL Cross Country Championships

Coaches and Athletic Directors-

Just a little bit of information in regards to the MVAL Championships next week… I think all the schools in the MVAL were either at the Mountain Run last month, were represented by a boys or girls only team, or actually practice out there, so I won’t go into too much detail about the course. If anybody wants to walk and/or review the course beforehand, just let me know. We usually have several teams out the week before to check out the course, so feel free to swing on by!

-Buses will be directed on where to park. They will be parked along the edge of the parking lot on the grass that backs up to Route 550.

-The course will be opened for course walks around 8 a.m.

-Shirts will be on sale for $15.

-For J.V. races, it will be a combined score. When I get home I will break it down into leagues.

-Awards: Top 15 in each varsity race will receive a medal, Top 10 in the J.V. Combined race will receive medals (this will NOT be broken down by divisions).

-We will be using the Hy-tek scoring system. Results will be posted and available to coaches when ready.

Time Schedule:

8:00 a.m. – Course opens for review

9:00 a.m. – Morning Session Coaches’ Meeting

10:00 a.m. – Boys Piedmont/Antietam Varsity race

10:30 a.m. – Girls Piedmont/Antietam Varsity race

11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon – P.M. Course Review, Morning Awards Ceremony

11:30 a.m. – Afternoon Session Coaches’ Meeting

12:00 noon – Boys JV Combined

12:40 p.m. – Girls JV Combined

1:20 p.m. – Boys Chesapeake/Blue Ridge Varsity race

1:50 p.m. – Girls Chesapeake/Blue Ridge Varsity race
